I'm Pia and I'm an Amigurumi Addict!

Welcome to my very new website! I've been crocheting for about 7 years and absolutely love designing Amigurumi Patterns. In my previous life I was a Greetings Card Designer for 20 years and I find it so exciting to bring my drawn characters to life in 3D with yarn!
I live on the beautiful Isle of Wight with Lulu the Diva Dog. When I'm not crocheting - which is not often 😀 - I love heading to the beach for a swim (all year round!).

I'd been thinking about starting an Amigurumi website for a while but life kept getting in the way....
... until someone mentioned in the Crochet UK FB group that Aldi sells yarn online...  "I'll just have a look" I thought...
...you know what comes next 😁...
...before I knew it, lured by the gorgeous colours, I'd ordered the So Crafty Amigurumi 72 pack...72 x 25g balls of 36 luscious hues for just £29.99! That's a bargain, right?

Well, YES, it's a bargain if you actually make something with it...but NO, not so much if it just gets added to the ever growing yarn stash that's (not so) slowly taking over the entire house!
After two weeks of feeling guilty every time the box catches my eye I set myself a...
#lockdownamichallenge
...how many of my crochet chums could I design and make from the whole box???
To make sure I stuck to the challenge, I decided it was the perfect time to finally start a Amigurumi site to document my progress. I decided to release the patterns for free to help other crocheters pass the time through lockdown.

You can find the Free Amigurumi Patterns HERE
Little did I know what I'd started - this thing has grown like topsy! I now have over 7000 people on my Mailing List (sign up to access free printable PDFs of all the free patterns!) and over 5000 following me on Instagram. Through the Mailing List and various Facebook crochet groups I've got to know some lovely crocheters from around the world - it's all flipping' wonderful! ❤️❤️❤️
